ABOUT US

Swat Aman Jarga which was established on 24 February 2008, with a mandate “to enhance human development by stabilizing and uplifting ethically, morally, economically and socially the community of Malakand Division”. The posh population and stake holders in the community shake hands with Swat Aman Jarga and played a pivotal role and as a peace council between militants and the state authorities.

Swat Aman Jarga is based on Swat valley with its Head office in Islamabad and complete networking in the entire Districts of NWFP; it makes joint venture with various national and international Organizations in all activities.
Swat Aman Jarga Mission:

1.   Bilateral negotiation with peaceful end in all human discrimination cases.
2.   Patronage with Pakistan Army, politicians and stake holders for development of community of swat and Malakand Division.
3.   Support to Ida’s in the national disaster and a historical displacement.

Swat Aman Jirga appreciated the role of National & international media for their important role play in swat operation in order to lead the system towards transparency, fairness and evenhandedness for peace and development via coverage in print and electronic media. Swat Aman Jarga has more than 15000 members working as peace executers in the various areas of NWFP.

Humanitarian work done by Swat Aman Jarga:

When the crisis started in Pakistan after the battle in the valley between Taliban and Pakistan Army, the historical evacuation came into being by the high risky situations in the area when their was no living situations for any human being. It was more than 2.5 million people were displaced. And government of Pakistan accommodated them in different camps especially in different accessible and possible locations of NWFP and Punjab.

The next very challenging duty was came on our shoulder, and that was to register these all IDP’s to know the exact figures for planning, preparations and arrangements for SHELTER, FOOD and MEDICATION. Swat Aman Jarga registered 200,000 IDP’s form Swat and handover the list to the Pakistani Authorities, NWFP, Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan. SAJ established free living shelter camps here in Islamabad in Ittefaq town G-12/4, and provided SHELTER, FOOD, MEDICATION. We have this time 2190 volunteers active members working in NWFP for peace, awareness, Rehabilitation and development.

Our Future Plans and goals:

1-   Conduct a systematic survey, because we personally feel that there is a lot to do more in depth practical evaluation about the region and organized it though a series of documentaries (as we have a special department for Documentary-Making)
2-   Peace and stability in the region.
3-   Finding the missing persons during the swat crisis
4-   Awareness program (human rights, peace, education, technical education etc.)
5-   FM radio (to educate and refresh the people of swat and Malakand from the previous war assassination and burdens they already faced.
6-   Monthly magazine for total progress of the month, if anyone misses the whole month or any part of awareness schemes or any kind of information, so it will provide a kind of memorial book for the month.
7-   Establish a cable network system (there’s no cable network this time available in the region)

Our future planning list is not ending here, but these were the programs we believed that is the most significant for this very instance to construct the lives of these innocent people who spellbound in the bloody war and invasion and made IDP’s in there own country.

Moreover, Sir, in 2007, we have to leave Swat due to threats from Taliban leaders, FAZALULLAH & SHAHDORAN as they announced on their own FM Radio and threats to us (me & my family) including the other 30 families to leave the area. We have to loose all our properties there in Swat and we don’t have any proper business or financial resources to fulfill our day-by-day needs in Islamabad. We all listed families are facing great financial problems now and we cannot go back because the remains of Taliban are still targeting me & my family.

Sir, we are the same people who helped the Pakistan Army operation in Swat and gave all required information regarding Taliban & their leaders in Malakand Division in spite of deadly threats. We and other volunteers of the area gave right targets of Taliban Leaders to Pakistan Army and with that help only in few days; all the major Taliban leaders and their camps were destroyed.

Sir, My wife Mrs. Farhat Rayat (Chairperson FEHRO & Ex-Lady Councilor TMA Swat) is currently visiting Malakand Division now to start activities of FEHRO. We have been already granted NOC from PDMA / paRRSA Peshawar. I, therefore, request your honor to forward our this letter to the authorities and Army personal in Swat & Malakand Division for cooperation and all efforts to start activities in area again. We also request your cooperation to allow her for visiting all the Girls Schools where we have already established IT Centers before crises in Different areas of Swat. We Hope you will cooperate with us in this regard please.
